The color of the plot sometimes blends from element to element because the program gets data for the element centers, corners, and stations.

• For an input OUTPUT2 file and loadcase number, the program provides a colorplot for a selected variable
  

Colorplot of an OUTPUT2 file in the Max/Min mode:
The color of the plot is patchy; there is no blending because there is only one value for each element, its maximum or minimum.

• For each element and for a selected variable, the program finds the maxima, across all loadcases, and plots this value.
• This plot represents the combined extrema of all loadcases.
